ena Armstrong, creator and founder of Just Be… and the label
Screaming T's is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She
began dancing ballet at the age of 3 and later transitioned into
acting and modeling. While living in Los Angeles, California and
working as a professional actress and dancer she found herself
modeling for a clothing line and became inspired to begin her own
designs. After receiving a grant from Career Transitions For
Dancers, Just Be…Screaming T's was started. This was in Sept. of
2001 and the label has done very well ever since, selling to well
known stores such as Fred Segal, American Rag and Only Hearts (email or phone for a full list of stores). Now Lena
Armstrong has relocated the company to NYC and is creating new
designs while keeping the original ones.
All outfits are handbeaded and/or handsewn.
Therefore, no two teeshirts, underwear or outfit are
exactly the same.
